Family Recovery Court celebrates its first graduates

Posted

On April 26, the Montgomery County Family Recovery Court celebrated its first four graduates in the community room of the Youth Service Bureau. Caitlyn, Brittany, Hayli and Brooke, have spent months overcoming obstacles and working hard to reach this milestone. Friends, family, team members, and community members came together to celebrate these impressive women.

Family Recovery Court is a collaborative treatment court that was established in 2022 to provide supervision and guidance to families struggling with substance use disorders. The participants progress through five phases, in which they need to abide by terms and rules and meet certain criteria. The team is comprised of Montgomery Probation, Montgomery County Public Defender Office, Valley Oaks Health, Cummins Behavioral Health, Mobile Integrated Health, the CASA program, InWell, and Montgomery County Superior Court 2 Judge Daniel Petrie. Participants and the team meet each week to monitor progress and help the participants move forward toward sobriety and success so they can raise their children in a safe and healthy manner.
